The Cytogenetic Study of 1,777 Cases in Pusan and Kyeongnam Areas.

Abstract
|
|
|
From February, 1992 to May, 1995, we studies. Giemsa-banded chromosomes from peripheral blood, bone marrow, amniotic fluid, chorionic villi abortus to investigate chromoscomal abnormalities in 1,777 patients showing congenital anomalies,
unexplained
mental or growth retardation, amenorrhea, infertility, infantile genitalia, abortion, chromosomaly abnormal delivery or family history and hematologic malignancies.
@ES Recoginzed 272 chromosomal abnormalities were as follows:
@EN 1. Autosomal chromosome aberrations: 217 cases(79.8%)
Most common case is Down Syndrome: 137 cases(63.1%)
Other cases are inversion 9(24 cases, 70.6%)
among the C group(34 cases, 17.2%)
2. Sex chromosome aberrations: 52 cases(19.1%)
Most common case is Turner syndrome : 29 cases(55.8%)
Klienfelter syndrome: 9 cases(17.3%)
3. Hematologic malignancies: 3 cases(1.1%)
